Depending on the model, our scooters either have an immobilizer that can be activated via an app, or the display can be password-protected.
Both versions have their pros and cons, but they have one thing in common: they prevent unauthorized use of the scooter when it is parked under supervision. Neither model offers theft protection and therefore does not replace a lock. That is not what these models are designed for. They are suitable, for example, for preventing children playing nearby from using the scooter when no one is looking.
Immobilizer
Models with a TFT display (and compatibility with the VMAX CONNECT app) can activate an immobilizer via the app. The immobilizer makes it significantly harder to turn the rear wheel by generating an electromagnetic field. This requires a constant flow of current and thus drains the battery.
PIN lock
The password lock on scooters with a TFT display consists of a 4-digit numeric PIN that you can set yourself. Once this feature is enabled in the menu, the code will be requested when you start the scooter. You can see how to enable the PIN lock in the video below, and instructions are also provided in your user manual.
Important: Once the PIN lock has been set, be sure to remember the password and set the code only when you have a quiet moment and can focus on it.
Once a PIN has been set, it can only be removed by us in person; this cannot be done remotely and will incur a fee.
