instructions

1

Open the front maintenance flap

Geöffnete vordere Wartungsklappe am VMAX VX2 PRO

Changing your rear light starts at the front of the scooter. The plug connection of your scooter is located behind the front maintenance flap.

To remove the maintenance flap, you must loosen 2 screws at the top and bottom of the scooter.

2

Disconnect the rear light connector

Getrennte Steckverbindung des Rücklichts beim VMAX VX2 PRO

Cut open the heat-shrink tubing and disconnect your rear light.

It is best to tie a piece of thread to the plug so that you can pull it back through the frame more easily afterwards.

3

Detach the mudguard

Then detach your mudguard.

If you are riding a VX2, you can skip the next two steps. With the VX2 PRO, these are also necessary.

4

Remove the motor cover and rubber plug

On the VX2 PRO, you must now also remove the support strut.

To do this, remove the rubber plugs on both sides of the motor cover and then remove the motor cover using the Allen key.

5

Separate the support strut from the frame

Now separate the support strut from the frame.

Hold the nut with the open-end wrench and loosen the bolt with the Allen key.

6

Pull out the rear light and mudguard

You can now pull the rear light and mudguard out of the scooter.

Loosen the thread immediately and leave it in the scooter for the time being.

7

Remove the rear light cable and folding hook

You can now detach the rear light cable on the inside of the mudguard.

If you are replacing the mudguard, now also remove the hook for the folding mechanism.

8

Insert the new rear light and pull the cable through

As soon as you have inserted the new rear light or your old rear light is mounted in the new mudguard, you can attach the thread to the plug of the new light.

Then pull the cable forward through the frame.

9

Reassemble all components

Then refit all the elements at the back of your scooter.

Before plugging in the new light, pull the heat-shrink tubing over the cable.

When reassembling, make sure that all screws are correctly seated and that no cables are pinched or damaged.

Check the result

After assembly, check that the rear light is connected correctly and works reliably. Also check that the mudguard is firmly in place, the support strut is properly fitted and the folding mechanism is still working correctly.

After the repair, test your VMAX e-scooter carefully when stationary or on a short distance before using it normally again in everyday life.

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about this repair.

Why does the replacement of the rear light start at the front of the scooter?

Because the plug connection for the rear light is located behind the front maintenance flap. Only there can you disconnect the cable cleanly and reconnect it later.

What is the thread useful for when removing?

The thread helps you to pull the plug of the new rear light forwards through the frame more easily later on. This saves time and makes installation much easier.

Do I have to remove the support strut on the VX2 PRO?

Yes, this step is necessary on the VX2 PRO so that you can remove the mudguard and rear light cleanly. The old instructions explicitly state that these steps are only necessary for the VX2 PRO.
