Instructions
Open the front maintenance panel

To replace your taillight, start at the front of the scooter. The plug connection for your scooter is located behind the front maintenance flap.
To remove the maintenance panel, you need to loosen two screws at the top and two at the bottom of the scooter.
Disconnect the taillight connector

Cut open the heat-shrink tubing and disconnect your taillight.
It's best to tie a piece of string to the plug right away so that you can pull it back through the frame more easily later.
Remove the fender
Next, remove your fender.
If you're using a VX2, you can skip the next two steps. These steps are required for the VX2 PRO.
Remove the engine cover and rubber plugs

With the VX2 PRO, you now also have to remove the support strut.
To do this, remove the rubber plugs on both sides of the motor cover, and then use the Allen wrench to remove the motor cover.
Detach the strut from the frame

Now detach the strut from the frame.
Hold the nut in place with the open-end wrench and loosen the screw with the Allen wrench.
Pull out the taillight and fender
Now you can pull the taillight out of the scooter along with the fender.
Untie the string right away and leave it in the scooter for now.
Remove the taillight cable and the folding hook
Now you can disconnect the taillight cable on the inside of the fender.
When you replace the fender, be sure to remove the hook for the folding mechanism as well.
Install the new taillight and route the cable
Once you've installed the new taillight or mounted your old taillight on the new fender, you can attach the wire to the connector on the new light.
Then pull the cable through the frame toward the front.
Reassemble all components
Next, reattach all the parts to the back of your scooter.
Before you plug in the new light, slide the heat-shrink tubing over the cable.
Check the result
After assembly, check that the taillight is properly connected and working reliably. Also check that the fender is securely fastened, the support strut is properly installed, and the folding mechanism continues to work correctly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about this repair.
Why does the process of replacing the taillight start at the front of the scooter?
Because the tail light's connector is located behind the front maintenance flap. That's the only place where you can safely disconnect the cable and reconnect it later.
What is the thread used for during disassembly?
The string will help you pull the plug of the new taillight back through the frame to the front more easily later on. This saves time and makes installation much easier.
Do I absolutely have to remove the support strut on the VX2 PRO?
Yes, this step is necessary for the VX2 PRO so that you can remove the fender and taillight properly. The old manual explicitly states that these steps are only necessary for the VX2 PRO.
