Instructions

1

Open the front maintenance cover

The replacement of your rear turn signals begins at the front of the scooter. Behind the front maintenance cover is the connection for your turn signals.

Open the maintenance cover to access the connection.

2

Disconnect the turn signal connector

It’s best to compare the cable with that of your replacement turn signal. Remove the heat shrink tubing and disconnect your turn signal.

It’s also a good idea to tie a piece of string to the connector, so you can pull it back through the frame more easily later.

3

Remove the motor cover on the affected side

Now remove the motor cover on the corresponding side.

Start by removing the rubber plugs from the cover and then loosen the screws with an Allen key.

4

Pull out the cover and turn signal

Now you can pull the cover out along with the turn signal from the scooter.

Remove the string immediately and leave it in the scooter for now.

5

Unscrew the turn signal

Now unscrew the turn signal.

If the adhesive of the screw lock gives you trouble, gently heat it first with the heat gun.

6

Insert the new turn signal and pull through the cable

Once you have inserted the new turn signal, you can attach the string to the connector of the new turn signal and pull it through the frame to the front.

7

Connect the turn signal and reassemble everything

Then reattach all elements at the back of your scooter.

Before you plug in the new turn signal, pull the heat shrink tubing over the cable. If you use electrical tape instead, this may reduce your scooter's resistance to water.

8

Reattach the rubber mat if necessary

If your rubber mat does not stay on the maintenance cover after reassembly, reattach it with some spray adhesive.

When reassembling, make sure that all screws are seated correctly and that no cables are pinched or damaged.

Check results

After reassembly, check whether the new rear turn signal is correctly connected and functions properly. Also, check the secure fit of the motor cover, rubber plugs, and maintenance cover.

Test your VMAX e-scooter carefully after the repair, initially stationary or on a short distance, before using it normally in daily life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions regarding this repair.

Why does the replacement of the rear turn signal start at the front of the scooter?

Because the connector for the rear turn signals is behind the front maintenance cover. You need to disconnect the cable there before you can remove the turn signal at the back.

What do I need the string for during removal?

The string helps you pull the new cable through the frame towards the front more easily later. This makes installation much simpler.

Can I use electrical tape instead of heat shrink tubing?

Yes, this is generally possible. However, this may reduce your scooter's resistance to water. Heat shrink tubing is therefore the better solution.
