Instructions
Remove the rear axle cover

First, remove the rear axle cover.
Disconnect the motor connector

Next, disconnect the motor connector.
Make sure to cleanly separate the connection and do not pull on the cable itself.
Remove the motor
If you now remove both nuts, you can take the motor out downwards.
Hold the motor firmly while loosening it, so it does not drop uncontrollably.
Prepare the motor for tire change
To change the tire, take the removed motor and place it on a stable surface or secure it carefully.
Be careful not to damage either the axle or the approach of the cable.
Loosen the tire and remove the tube
Generously apply tire mounting paste to the tire and fully deflate the tire.
Carefully insert the tire lever against the tire and pry the tire off the rim piece by piece. Then, remove the valve from the axle and take out the tube.
Check the rim and insert new tube
Clean the inside of the rim if necessary. Then place the new tube onto the rim, ensuring it is not twisted.
Then attach the valve of the new tube.
Install new tire
Again, apply tire mounting paste to the rim and the new tire. Use the tire levers to mount the new tire back onto the rim.
Inflate the tire and complete assembly
Inflate the tire with the compressor to approx. 3.5 bar. Then let out some air if necessary.
Afterwards, remove any remaining mounting paste.
Reinstall the motor
Reinstall the motor in reverse order. Insert it correctly, secure both nuts, and cleanly reconnect the connector.
Then reinstall the rear axle cover.
Check Result
After reassembly, check that all affected parts are correctly mounted and are functioning properly. Pay particular attention to the secure fit of the motor, the correct cable routing, and the secure fit and pressure of the tire.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions regarding this repair.
Do I have to completely remove the motor to change the tire?
Yes. First, remove the entire wheel with the motor to subsequently change the tire or tube. This gives you significantly better access and allows you to work cleaner.
What should I pay attention to with the motor connector?
The connector should be cleanly separated and properly reconnected later. Do not pull directly on the cable to avoid any damage.
What should I do if the tire does not sit properly after the change?
Check if the tire is seated evenly on the rim and if sufficient mounting paste was used. If you are unsure or if the tire cannot be mounted cleanly, you should not force the repair.
