Instructions

1

Removing the rear axle cover

First remove the rear axle cover.

2

Disconnect the plug connection of the motor

Steckverbindung des Motors am VX5 lösen

Then disconnect the plug connection of the motor.

Make sure you disconnect the connection properly and do not pull on the cable itself.

3

Remove the motor

If you now remove both nuts, you can remove the motor by pulling it downwards.

Hold the motor firmly when removing it to prevent it from dropping uncontrollably.

4

Preparing the engine for the tire change

To change the tire, take the removed motor and place it on a stable surface or clamp it carefully.

Take care not to damage the axle or the base of the cable.

5

Loosen the tire and remove the tube

Lubricate the tire generously with the appropriate mounting paste and deflate the tire completely.

Carefully place the tire lever on the tire and lift the tire off the rim piece by piece. Then loosen the valve from the axle and remove the inner tube.

6

Check the rim and insert a new inner tube

Clean the inside of the rim if necessary. Then place the new inner tube on the rim and make sure that it is not twisted.

Then attach the valve of the new inner tube.

7

Fitting the new tire

Lubricate the rim and the new tire again with mounting paste. Pull the new tire back onto the rim using the mounting levers.

8

Inflate the tire and complete mounting

Inflate the tire to approx. 3.5 bar using the compressor. Then release some air again if necessary.

Then remove all remnants of the mounting paste.

9

Reinstalling the engine

Reinstall the motor in reverse order. Insert it correctly, tighten both nuts and reconnect the plug connection properly.

Then refit the rear axle cover.

When reassembling, make sure that all screws are correctly seated and that no cables are trapped or damaged.

Check the result

After reassembly, check that all relevant parts are correctly fitted and working properly. In particular, check that the motor is firmly seated, that the cables are routed correctly and that the tires are securely seated and inflated.

After the repair, test your VMAX e-scooter carefully when stationary or over a short distance before using it normally again in everyday life.

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about this repair.

Do I have to completely remove the motor to change the tire?

Yes, first remove the entire bike with the motor and then change the tire or inner tube. This gives you much better access and allows you to work more cleanly.

What do I have to pay attention to with the plug connection of the motor?

The plug connection should be disconnected properly and reconnected correctly later. Do not pull directly on the cable to prevent damage.

What should I do if the tire does not fit properly after changing?

Check whether the tire sits evenly on the rim and whether enough mounting paste has been used. If you are unsure or the tire cannot be fitted properly, you should not force the repair.
