Frequently Asked Questions
Here you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about replacing the hinge mechanism.
The folding mechanism isn't locking into place properly—what could be causing this?
Check that the spring is installed correctly and that the hook is positioned properly. A screw that is too loose or too tight can also affect movement.
Is there anything I need to keep in mind when inserting the spring?
Yes. The spring must be properly seated in the mechanism so that the latch snaps back automatically and the folding mechanism locks into place reliably.
Can I continue to use the folding mechanism if it's loose?
No. A loose hinge mechanism can cause the rear footrest to come loose. Replace the mechanism as soon as possible.
