Removing the front axle cover

To remove the front wheel of your scooter, the first step is to remove the front axle cover.

This is bolted behind the reflectors.

Remove the side fork covers

You can then remove both sides.

Unhook the Bowden cable of the drum brake

To do this, loosen the nut completely.

Loosen the fixation and axle nuts

Remove the axle nuts and remove the wheel

Then loosen the two nuts on the axle.

Now you have the wheel separately in your hand and can replace it with a new complete wheel. or replace individual parts such as the casing or bearing.

When reassembling, make sure that all screws are correctly seated and that no components remain loose. In particular, check the axle nuts, the fixing of the drum brake and that the Bowden cable is correctly attached.

Check the result

After assembly, check that the front wheel is correctly mounted and can rotate freely. In particular, check that the axle is firmly seated, that the drum brake is working properly and that all fairing parts are properly reattached.

After the repair, test your VMAX e-scooter carefully when stationary or on a short distance before using it normally again in everyday life.
