Changing the front light

In this step-by-step guide, we will show you how to replace the front light on your VMAX VX5 e-scooter yourself.

Tools required

  • Allen key 2.5 mm
  • Knife or scissors
  • Shrink tubing
  • Hot air dryer or lighter
  • Optional: 3 mm Allen key
Before starting, make sure that your VMAX e-scooter is switched off. Work on a stable surface and have all tools ready to hand.

Loosen the front light retaining screw

To change the light, first loosen the screw that holds the front light.

Pull the front light out of the cover

You can then pull the light forwards out of the cover.

Do this carefully to avoid putting unnecessary strain on the cable.

Optionally remove the light cover

If the cable gets caught, you also have the option of removing the light cover.

Cut the heat-shrink tubing and disconnect the light

Now use a sharp object to cut open the heat-shrink tubing. Be careful not to damage the cable.

You can then unplug the light. Before you plug in a new light, pass the heat-shrink tubing over the plug.

Connecting and fastening the new front light

As soon as the new light is plugged in, attach the heat-shrink tubing with the hot air gun or a lighter.

Take care not to heat the heat-shrink tubing too much so that the plug is not damaged. Then push the cable back into the steering head and screw the light back on.

When reassembling, make sure that all screws are correctly seated and that no cables are pinched or damaged.

Check the result

After reassembly, check that the front light is correctly fitted and working properly. In particular, check that it is firmly seated, that the cables are routed correctly and that the light functions properly.

Test your VMAX e-scooter after the First repair it carefully at a standstill or over a short distance before you use it normally again in everyday life.
