Then you can remove the brake pad on the left in the direction of travel.

⚠️ Important:
The sequence is crucial. Remove the right brake pad first and then the left one - otherwise the pads cannot be removed correctly.

Note on orientation:
The direction of travel refers to the direction in which you are facing when riding. If you are standing behind your VMAX e-scooter and looking forwards, the right brake pad is on your right-hand side.

Insert new brake pads

Insert new brake pads in brake caliper

Insert the new brake pads in reverse order.

1. first insert the brake pad on the left in the direction of travel.
2. then insert the brake pad on the right in the direction of travel.

Make sure that both brake pads are correctly seated and positioned.

5

Fitting the brake calliper and adjusting the brake

Then use the brake cable to adjust the brake so that it grips properly.

Make sure that the brake disk does not rub. When everything is set correctly, tighten the brake cable with the 5 mm Allen key.

When reassembling, make sure that all screws are correctly seated and that no cables are pinched or damaged.

Check the result

After assembly, check that the brake grips properly and that the wheel can rotate freely. The brake disk must not drag.

After the repair, carefully test your VMAX e-scooter over a short distance before using it normally again in everyday life.

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about this repair.

When should I change the brake pads?

Brake pads should be replaced when braking performance decreases significantly or the pads are badly worn. Regular checks increase safety.

Why does my brake disk grind after replacement?

In most cases, the brake calliper is not yet optimally aligned or the brake cable is adjusted too tightly. Slightly readjust the position of the brake calliper or the brake cable tension.

Can I continue riding with worn brake pads?

We advise against this. Heavily worn brake pads can significantly reduce braking performance and damage the brake disk.
