In dieser Anleitung zeigen wir dir Schritt für Schritt, wie du die Bremsbeläge an deinem VMAX E-Scooter selbst wechseln kannst. Die Anleitung gilt für die Modelle VX2 Hub und New VX4.
Tools needed
- 5 mm Allen wrench
- 4 mm Allen wrench
- Small screwdriver
Instructions
Loosen the brake cable

Take the 5 mm Allen wrench and use it to loosen the brake cable at the caliper.
Remove the brake caliper

Use a 4 mm Allen wrench to loosen the two screws that secure the brake caliper.

You can then carefully remove the caliper from the brake disc.
Remove old brake pads
First, remove the brake pad on the right side (as you face the direction of travel ) using a small screwdriver.

Then you can remove the brake pad on the left side as you face the direction of travel.
⚠️ Important:
The order is crucial. Remove the right brake pad first, then the left one—otherwise, the pads cannot be removed properly.
Mit Fahrtrichtung ist die Richtung gemeint, in die du beim Fahren blickst. Wenn du hinter deinem VMAX E-Scooter stehst und nach vorne schaust, befindet sich der rechte Bremsbelag auf deiner rechten Seite.
Install new brake pads

Reinstall the new brake pads in the reverse order.
1. First, install the brake pad on the left side (as viewed from the front ).
2. Next, install the brake pad on the right side (as viewed from the front ).
Make sure that both brake pads are properly seated and correctly positioned.
Install the brake caliper and adjust the brakes

Carefully place the caliper back onto the brake disc and secure it with the two bolts. Tighten them hand-tight using a 4 mm Allen wrench.

Next, use the brake cable to adjust the brake so that it engages smoothly.
Make sure the brake disc isn't rubbing. Once everything is properly adjusted, tighten the brake cable using the 5 mm Allen wrench.
Check the result
After assembly, check that the brake engages smoothly and that the wheel can turn freely. The brake disc must not rub against anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about this repair.
When should I replace the brake pads?
Brake pads should be replaced when braking performance decreases significantly or the pads are severely worn. Regular inspections improve safety.
Why is my brake rotor warping after being replaced?
In most cases, the brake caliper isn't properly aligned yet, or the brake cable is too tight. Adjust the position of the brake caliper or the tension of the brake cable slightly.
Can I keep driving with worn brake pads?
We do not recommend doing this. Severely worn brake pads can significantly reduce braking performance and damage the brake rotor.
