In this guide, we'll show you step by step how to replace the rear turn signal on your VMAX E-Scooter Hub / VX2 Gear E-Scooter yourself.
Tools needed
- 3.5 mm Allen wrench
- Phillips screwdriver
- Needle-nose pliers
- utility knife
- Optional: Heat-shrink tubing
Instructions
Open the side cover
Using a 3.5 mm Allen wrench, loosen the two screws on the side panel on the side where you want to replace the turn signal.
Also remove the screw under the side cover using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
Remove the side cover
Carefully loosen the rubber deck at the edge and gently pull out the side cover.
Disconnect the connectors
Disconnect the turn signal connector.
If you're working on the side with the charging port, disconnect that connector as well, so that all connections are disconnected and you're holding the side cover completely in your hand.
Carefully cut open the heat-shrink tubing with a utility knife.
Replace the turn signals
Hold the nut in place with needle-nose pliers and carefully unscrew it.
Remove the turn signal, insert the new one, and secure it with the nut.
Reconnect the cables and use new heat-shrink tubing if possible. If you're working on the charging port side, reconnect that cable as well.
Assembly
Carefully slide the cables back into the side panel and secure everything with the two Allen screws and the Phillips screw.
Check the result
After assembly, check that the turn signal is working properly and is securely fastened. Pay particular attention to the light function and make sure it is firmly in place.
