Your package just arrived!

We're just as excited as you are. But before you get started, there are a few important things to keep in mind:

  1. Tire pressure

While the scooter was in the box, the tires may have lost some air pressure. Riding with insufficient tire pressure can cause a variety of problems with the scooter, since one of the tire’s key functions is to provide suspension for the scooter.
Be sure to inflate both tires before your first ride. Depending on the rider's weight, the tire pressure should be between 2.5 and 3.0 bar.

  2. drum brake

It is essential to adjust the scooter's mechanical drum brake to your weight before riding.
To do this, turn the adjustment wheel at the bottom of the Bowden cable either slightly further up (the brake will then engage more firmly) or down (the brake will then engage more gently).

  3. disc brake

The VX2 Hub is equipped with a mechanical disc brake on the rear wheel. Before your first ride, you should check that the brake moves freely and applies evenly.
    ATTENTION:
    • You may hear some slight noises during the first few braking operations—the brakes need to bed in first. This is completely normal and nothing to worry about.
    • The brake disc can get hot while driving. Please do not touch it immediately after use.

  4. Regenerative brake

The electric motor brake is a regenerative brake. When the scooter is turned off or the motor is running at low speed, only very little braking force is applied. The regenerative brake is controlled by both brake levers.

  5. App Connections

The app provides you with a wealth of useful information about your scooter and helps you plan your trips in advance, including charging stops. Please note that the app is purely optional and is not required to use the scooter.
To connect your scooter to your phone via Bluetooth, you'll need the VMAX E-SCOOTER (available for iOS and Android).

  6. PIN lock

You can find all the information you need on how to lock your scooter with a password or change the PIN in our video:

  7. Kickstart or Zerostart

This is how we refer to the scooter’s two starting modes. We recommend the kickstart mode especially for inexperienced riders. In this mode, the scooter won’t start if you simply twist the throttle; instead, the scooter must already be rolling. In this mode, you start off as if you were riding a kick scooter and only apply the throttle once you’re already rolling and both feet are securely on the footboard.
With a zero-start, the scooter moves forward from a standstill. Since the drive comes from the rear wheel, the front wheel may lift off the ground if you shift your weight to the back of the scooter.
To switch between the two modes, simply open the app and toggle the setting in the dashboard.

  8. Automatic lighting

Press and hold the light button on the scooter for about 2 seconds to activate the automatic light feature. The light will then turn on or off automatically—depending on the ambient light—and the display brightness will also adjust automatically. This is all controlled by the built-in light sensor below the display. If you want to turn the light on or off manually via the app, the automatic light feature on the scooter must be disabled.

  9. USB port on the handlebar

Your VX2 Hub lets you charge your phone while riding, so you can use navigation even on long trips. A USB-C port is located below the left control unit. To use this port, plug the cable and your phone into your scooter while they are turned off, and then turn on your scooter. This is the only way to activate the port’s power supply.
