In this step-by-step guide, we will show you how to replace the charging socket and charging socket cover on your VMAX VX5 e-scooter yourself.
Tools required
- Allen key 2.5 mm
- Open-end wrench 16 mm
- Optional: Hot glue or spray adhesive
Instructions
Expose the footboard cover

First pull off the cover of your footboard. Then loosen the screw connection of the running board.
Disconnect the plug connection of the charging socket

Find the plug connection to the charging socket inside the footboard. Undo this and then loosen the nut.
Work carefully so that the cables and plug connections are not damaged.
Remove the charging socket or cover
Once the plug connection has been disconnected and the nut loosened, you can remove the charging socket or the charging socket cover.
Make sure to briefly check the installation position before removing so that the new part fits correctly later.
Insert and secure the new component
Insert the new charging socket or charging socket cover in the intended position and secure it again with the nut.
If necessary, you can optionally use hot glue or spray adhesive if this is appropriate for your spare part.
Re-establish the plug connection and close the running board
Reconnect the plug connection of the charging socket cleanly and check that it is firmly seated.
Then screw the running board back together and refit the running board cover.
Check the result
After reassembly, check that all relevant parts are correctly fitted and function properly. In particular, check that the charging socket is firmly seated, that the cable routing is clean and that the charging cable can be plugged in correctly.
