Your scooter will perform best if you clean it regularly. To avoid causing any damage, we’ve put together some tips and tricks for you here. Also, always follow the instructions in your scooter’s manual.
Before you begin, disconnect your scooter from the power source, turn it off, and carefully cover the charging port. Never use a garden hose or a pressure washer!
- All you need to give your scooter a thorough cleaning is a bucket of warm water and a sponge. Add a splash of cleaning solution, and you’ve got everything you need.
But be careful here: The moving parts of the scooter are lubricated—you shouldn’t use a grease-cutting cleaner on these areas!
- Make sure no water gets on the electrical components or connections—to clean them, please use either a compressed air gun or a brush
- The display can be damaged by both cleaning agents and rough sponges—it’s best to use a dry microfiber cloth
- Make sure that no lubricants come into contact with your brakes or tires to ensure optimal braking performance.
- Cleaning your scooter is a great opportunity to check all its parts for damage. In particular, strong vibrations while riding can cause bolted connections to come loose—if you notice anything unusual, be sure to avoid riding until all connections are secure.
