If you are unable or unwilling to use your scooter for a longer period of time, then follow the tips and tricks below so that you can get back on it again. Always pay attention to the information in your operating instructions.
-
Battery care
A lithium-ion battery suffers from "extreme conditions" - this is where the battery ages the fastest. This means that it is best if the battery is neither completely empty nor completely full for a longer period of time. Therefore, charge your scooter to approx. 60% before storing it and connect it to the charger every four weeks to maintain this charge level. A deep discharge can permanently damage the battery.
-
The right place
It is best not to store your VMAX too warm or too cold. In particular, permanent temperatures below freezing can cause damage to the battery and motor.
Your storage location should also be dry and not very dusty. The original box is also a good place for the scooter to protect it from dust and the like.
-
Air pressure
The air pressure in the tires depends on the ambient temperature. If your scooter was inflated at very low temperatures, the pressure in the tire will increase as soon as the tire warms up. Therefore, avoid very high (and very low) pressures when storing your scooter.
Take care not to ride the scooter with flat tires under any circumstances. This can lead to damage to the tire and casing, but also to the scooter's bearings. Pump up the scooter immediately if you want to use it again.
