Smart mobility in the mine: a real gain in efficiency
Space is at a premium in the underground pressure tunnels of the power plants operated by ewz, the City of Zurich’s electricity utility—not to mention light or comfort. Anyone working here must be able to rely on their equipment. This is exactly where the VMAX VX5 PRO comes in.
Instead of bicycles, ewz is relying on E-Scooter in its current projects E-Scooter a decision that has proven successful. “Riding and maintaining balance in the narrow tunnel, which is about 2.5 meters wide, is E-Scooter easier on an E-Scooter than on a bicycle,” says Peter Jörimann, who is responsible for civil engineering projects in Central Grisons.
A project with depth—in the truest sense of the word
The VMAX VX5 PROs are currently being used at the Marmorera Dam. There, they assist the team with transportation tasks within the sprawling facility.
The scooters had previously been used in another project in a pressure tunnel up to 12 km long. There, they were transported on a construction vehicle and deployed to the respective work sites—a safe and efficient solution in confined spaces. No noise, no physical effort—but a reliable range and high safety.
