Your package just arrived!
We're just as excited as you are. But before you get started, there are a few important things to keep in mind:
-
Tire Pressure
While the scooter was in the box, the tires may have lost some air pressure. Riding with insufficient air pressure can cause a variety of problems with the scooter, since one of the tire's key functions is to provide suspension for the scooter.
Be sure to inflate both tires before your first ride. Depending on the rider's weight, the tire pressure should be between 2.5 and 3.0 bar.
-
drum brake
It is essential to adjust the scooter's mechanical drum brake to your weight before riding.
To do this, turn the adjustment wheel at the bottom of the Bowden cable either a little further up (the brake will then engage more firmly) or down (the brake will then engage more gently).
-
Regenerative brake
The electric motor brake is a regenerative brake. When the scooter is turned off or the motor is running at low speed, the braking force is very low.
The regenerative brake is activated by both brake levers.
-
Disc brake
The VX4 is equipped with a mechanical disc brake on the rear wheel. Before your first ride, you should check that the brake moves freely and applies evenly.
ATTENTION:- You may hear some slight noises during the first few braking operations—the brakes need to bed in first. This is completely normal and no cause for concern.
- The brake disc can get hot while driving. Please do not touch it immediately after use.
-
App Connections
The app provides you with a lot of useful information about your scooter and helps you plan your trips in advance, including charging stops. Please note that the app is purely optional and is not required to use the scooter.
To connect your scooter to your phone via Bluetooth, you'll need the VMAX E-SCOOTER (available for iOS and Android).
-
PIN Lock
You can find all the information you need on how to lock your scooter with a password or change your PIN in our video:
-
Kickstart or Zerostart
That’s what we call the scooter’s two starting modes. We recommend the kickstart mode especially for inexperienced riders. In this mode, the scooter won’t start if you just twist the throttle—it has to be rolling first. In this mode, you start off as if you were riding a kick scooter and only apply the throttle once you’re already rolling and both feet are securely on the footboard.
With a zero-start, the scooter starts moving from a standstill. Since the drive comes from the rear wheel, the front wheel can lift off the ground if you shift your weight to the back of the scooter.
To switch between the two modes, look for the corresponding button in the VMAX E-SCOOTER dashboard.
-
Adjustable oil-pressure suspension
The VX4 is equipped with adjustable oil-pressure suspension at the front, which you can adjust to suit your weight or riding style. The adjustment is made using the adjustment screw on the suspension fork. It comes factory-set to the softest setting—recommended for a load of approximately 60 kg. For more comfort or if you weigh more, you can set the suspension to a stiffer setting:- Factory setting (softest level) – recommended for approximately 60 kg
- About 4 turns – medium setting, recommended for about 90 kg
- Approx. 8.5 turns – hardest setting, recommended for maximum load
Note: Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to make the suspension stiffer. Turn it counterclockwise to make it softer.
-
USB port on the steering column
Your VX4 lets you charge your cell phone while riding so you can use the navigation system even on long trips. A USB-C port is located below the left control unit. To use this port, plug the cable and your cell phone (which should be turned off) into your scooter, and then turn on your scooter. This is the only way to activate the power supply to the port.
