Your package just arrived!
We're just as excited as you are. But before you get started, there are a few important things to keep in mind:
-
Tire pressure
While the scooter was in the box, the tires may have lost some air pressure. Riding with insufficient air pressure can cause a variety of problems with the scooter, as one of the tire’s key functions is to provide suspension for the scooter.
Be sure to inflate both tires before your first ride. Depending on the rider's weight, the tire pressure should be between 2.5 and 3 bar.
-
drum brake
It is essential to adjust the scooter's mechanical drum brake to your weight before riding.
To do this, turn the adjustment knob at the bottom of the cable either slightly further up (the brake will then engage more firmly) or down (the brake will then engage more gently).
-
Regenerative brake
The electric motor brake is a regenerative brake. When the scooter is turned off or the motor is running at low speed, the braking force is very low.
For example, to prevent it from rolling away on a slope, always use the left Combined brake.
-
Connect with the VMAX app
Our app offers you many additional information about your scooter, such as the mileage of your current trip or your battery level as a percentage, and also lets you quickly access settings like riding mode, kick-start or zero-start, and lighting. But don't worry: if you don't have your phone with you or lend the scooter to your friends, the app is purely optional component of your scooter. It works just fine even without your phone.
To connect your phone to your scooter via Bluetooth, you'll need the VMAX CONNECT app for Android or iOS.
-
Immobilizer
You can easily activate your scooter's immobilizer via the app. Your scooter will then electrically lock the rear wheel, so you don't have to worry about someone else riding it away.
However, you should only use the immobilizer if you can keep an eye on the scooter. If you move further away from your scooter, we definitely recommend a secure lock to use. The immobilizer is not an anti-theft device.
-
Kickstart or Zerostart
This is how we refer to the scooter’s two starting modes. We recommend the kickstart mode especially for inexperienced riders. In this mode, the scooter won’t start if you just twist the throttle; instead, it needs to be rolling first. In this mode, you start the scooter as if you were scooter Start rolling, and only then press the gas pedal once you’re already moving and both feet are securely on the footrest.
With a zero-start, the scooter moves forward from a standstill. Since the drive comes from the rear wheel, the front wheel may lift off the ground if you shift your weight to the back of the scooter.
To switch between the two modes, simply go to the app's settings. Alternatively, you can change the riding mode by quickly pressing the start-stop button on your scooter four times.
-
Cruise control
To activate cruise control, press Press the on/off button three times quickly when the system is turned on. After about 5 seconds of driving at a constant speed, cruise control engages.
The stored speed is cleared when you activate either the turn signal or the brakes. To deactivate cruise control, press the on/off button three times again. Use this feature only when the vehicle is stationary.
-
Eco/Sport Mode
To switch between Eco and Sport modes, press Press the on/off button once briefly when the device is turned on. The change takes effect immediately and is shown on the display.
Eco Mode: You're driving in a particularly fuel-efficient way—ideal for longer trips.
Sport mode: You have the full power of your VMAX e-scooter at your disposal.
