Want to get more mileage out of a single battery charge? Here are some practical tips that work right away—from proper charging and smart driving to choosing the right model.
Why range is E-Scooter important for E-Scooter
Whether it’s your daily commute, an after-work ride, or a weekend trip: a reliable range makes your everyday life easier—fewer charging stops, more flexibility, and a more relaxed riding experience.
7 Tips for Maximizing Your Reach
Tip 1:
Charge Properly & Preserve Battery Life
- Try to keep the battery charge between 20% and 80% in everyday use.
- Let the battery cool down briefly after driving, then charge it.
In winter, bring the battery to room temperature (approx. 20 °C) first, and only then charge it. - Charge your E-Scooter at room temperature (between 15°C and 25°C) and avoid extreme temperatures.
- If you plan to store the scooter for an extended period (e.g., over the winter), charge it to about 80% before storing it.
Tip 2:
Drive with foresight & maintain a steady speed
Less stop-and-go driving, accelerate gently, and maintain a steady speed when going uphill—this is how you use energy more efficiently.
Tip 3:
Lose Weight
It’s not just your body weight that counts—your luggage does too. What matters is the total weight (you + luggage), regardless of whether you carry it in a backpack or attach it to the scooter. Take only what you really need.
- Pack light: Choose locks, tools, and other items that are as lightweight as possible.
- For longer trips: Pack water and snacks in a compact way.
- On hills and in cold weather, extra weight has a particularly significant impact on range.
Tip 4:
Check your tire pressure regularly
The correct tire pressure reduces rolling resistance and increases range. For VMAX scooters, we recommend 2.5–3.0 bar (when the tires are cold). Ideally, check the tire pressure weekly or before long trips.
- Insufficient tire pressure: higher rolling resistance → reduced range, spongy handling, increased wear, and risk of damage to rims and tires.
- Too much pressure: theoretically lower rolling resistance, but less grip (especially in wet conditions or when leaning), longer braking distance, a stiffer ride, and uneven, accelerated tire wear.
Tip 5:
E-Scooter KeepingE-Scooter & Maintained
Clean, well-lubricated moving parts and intact bearings reduce friction. Regular inspections pay off.
Important: Wear parts (e.g., tires, brake components, bearings) must be replaced regularly depending on usage. You can find the right parts in our Spare Parts Store.Tip 6:
Choose the right driving mode
Use Eco mode for maximum efficiency and range. Use Sport mode specifically for short stretches—such as when passing, on hills, or in headwinds—and then switch back to Eco.

Frequently Asked Questions About E-Scooter
How long does a battery last?
That depends on how you use and maintain it. With proper care , hundreds of charge cycles are typical without any noticeable loss of capacity. Avoid frequent full-to-empty charge cycles and extreme temperatures.
What has the greatest impact on range?
Driving style, speed, temperature, tire pressure, total weight (including luggage), road surface, and elevation. A calm, steady driving style yields the best results.
Can the battery be replaced?
Yes, we carry all batteries in our spare parts shop. Check there to see if they’re compatible with your model—or contact our service team through Support.
Which tires are the most efficient?
Well-maintained tubeless tires with the correct pressure usually offer the best balance of comfort, traction, and range.
You can find a detailed comparison in the blog post “Tubeless vs. Solid Tires vs. Pneumatic Tires.”
Note: Off-road tires offer more traction off-road but generally have higher rolling resistance than road tires—range may be slightly reduced.
Bottom line: More range, more driving fun
If you keep an eye on battery maintenance, tire pressure, driving mode, and driving style, you’ll get noticeably more mileage out of every charge. And with the right model, every trip will be more relaxing.
