Your parcel has just arrived!
We're just as pleased as you are. But before you get started, there are a few important things to consider:
-
Tire pressure
During the time in the box, the tires may have lost some pressure. Riding with under-inflated tires can cause serious damage to the scooter. It is therefore essential to check the tire pressure before the first ride and at regular intervals Depending on the weight of the rider, the tire pressure should be between 2.5 and 3.0 bar.
-
Disc brakes
The mechanical brakes may need to be adjusted before the first ride. To do this, use the adjustment wheels on the respective brake lever.
-
App connections
The app provides you with lots of useful information about your scooter and helps you to plan your tours, including charging stops, in advance. The app is purely optional and not essential for using the scooter.
To connect your scooter to your cell phone via Bluetooth, you need the VMAX E-SCOOTER app (available for iOS and Android).
-
Kickstart or Zerostart
This is what we call the two start modes of the scooter. We recommend Kickstart, especially for inexperienced riders. In this mode, the scooter does not start when you just press the throttle. In this mode, you start off as if you were riding a scooter and only press the accelerator when you are already rolling and both feet are safely on the footboard.
In zero start, the scooter starts off when stationary. As the drive comes from the rear wheel, the front wheel can rise into the air if you have your weight on the back of the scooter.
To switch between the two modes, simply go to the display settings.
-
Riding position
To control the performance of the scooter, it is necessary to exert constant pressure on the handlebars. For this reason, the scooter is ridden in a sporty position with slightly bent legs. This position is supported by the low handlebars.
For controlled acceleration, the center of gravity must be shifted forward. This prevents the front wheel from losing contact with the ground. When braking, the center of gravity is shifted to the rear wheel by adopting a slightly seated position. A center of gravity that is too far forward on the scooter during heavy braking can cause the rear wheel to rise and make the scooter difficult to control.
Riding modes
You can switch between the three riding modes of the R55 PRO by briefly pressing the "S" and "D" buttons. In first gear, the scooter goes up to 20 km/h, in second gear you can accelerate to 40 km/h and in third gear, the tremendous power of the R55 PRO takes you up to 55 km/h.
-
The second motor
A long press on the "D" button activates the front motor of the R55 PRO. This is indicated by the small "D" at the top of the display. A long press on the "S" button switches the second motor off again.
Note: Even when the front motor is switched off, it rotates slightly. This is to protect the electronics. When the front drive is switched off, the power of the front drive is minimal.
